Starbucks Coffee 2013 Planner

After CBTL released their 2013 Giving Journal 3 days ago, it's Starbucks turn to release theirs. And we've been waiting for this since Christmas season started. Apparently, the one who started it all won't be left behind. They've been a mixture of good and bad in designing their planners. But this year is no difference, chartering on the good side. I pretty much like the overall design which still comes in three colors: black, white, and apple green. The planner itself may be removed from the faux leather/plastic case (somewhat similar to the covers found in tablets and smartphones) so that you can use it still come 2014. It has the usual monthly and weekly calendars, notes pages, flap insertion for loose papers, and the monthly coupons. So why don't you drop by the nearest Starbucks and see for yourself the brilliance of their 2013 planner.

Mechanics:
1. A customer can avail of a Starbucks Christmas Traditions Promo card from Nov. 3 to Jan. 28 with no purchase required.
2. One sticker is awarded for each Starbucks handcrafted beverage purchase. A customer must accumulate a total of 17 stickers to redeem one Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2013 Planner. Holiday Featured Beverages (Toffee Nut Latter, Peppermint Mocha, Dark Cherry Mocha) - 9 stickers. Any other Starbucks Core Beverage of your choice - 8 stickers.
3. Customer must present the Starbucks Christmas Traditions card to the barista upon purchase to get the corresponding number of stickers.
4. In case of the Holiday Featured Beverages are not available, customers can substitute it with any of the remaining holiday featured beverages. Should all three not be available, only then can customers substitute with any espresso-based or Frappuccino blended beverage of their choice.
5. A customer must complete the required number of stickers to qualify for the redemption of one Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2013 Planner. A combination of up to 2 promo cards will be allowed, provided that the 9 featured plus 8 core beverages will be satisfied.
6. Once all stickers are completed, customer submits the Starbucks Christmas Traditions Card/s to redeem one Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2013 Planner from any Starbucks Coffee store nationwide.
7. Tampering with and/or transferring of stickers to obtain the required number of stickers will render all promo cards null and void.
8. Promotion starts on Nov. 3. Stickers may be obtained from Nov. 3 to Jan. 8.
9. Redemption of the Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2013 Planner starts Nov. 3 up to Mar. 8 at Starbucks stores in the Philippines only.

PS: Looks like I'll be eating my words. I want the white or green planners!

Battle of the Planners

So here is the 2012 edition of the battle of the planners. Last year, I gave the crown to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Chose to use it instead and dispose of my 5 Starbucks planners and 1 Bo's Coffee Doodle Book. But this year, I got back with Starbucks (after 15 days!). They finally realized that most people wants a smaller version and not the National Bookstore type planners. Let yourselves decide!

Shared Planet: Sneak Peak

Come November 3, all roads lead back to all Starbucks branches for the first day of sticker redemption for the 2012 Starbucks Planner! This year's edition comes in 5 designs made of engineered wood with their own pouches. Colors are Poplar, Bamboo, Cherry, Spruce, and Oak (from lightest to darkest).

And this year, Starbucks is giving us 3 options on availment:

  • Buy 9 Christmas blends + 8 core beverages except bottled drinks = 17 stickers
  • Buy 23 core beverages except bottled drinks = 23 stickers
  • Buy P5000 worth of Starbucks merchandise (GC, tumblers, etc.) = free planner
There you go. Hope to get my own soon! I'm torn between Oak and Spruce!

New Stores For 2011

Need to visit these soon...

150 and counting

It's been four years since I started this craziness. Going around the Philippines and visiting different Starbucks branches is no easy task. Pretty expensive too. But then again, at least I only have this addiction. No drugs, smoking, nor drinking. Or at least drinking caffeine.

So after four years, and 150 unique branches, will I still continue? HELL YEAH! Visiting Davao, Iloilo and those 2 new stores in Cebu are already planned. And hopefully I'll be able to cover every branch there is before I move global...

So to document my 150th store, here are some pictures of my short trip to Starbucks Summit Ridge Tagaytay.

Another Starbucks addiction: collecting city tumblers. 11 and counting...

And lastly, family bonding FTW! (not mine sorry)

spark of brilliance

Just a follow-up to my previous post. The promo cards distributed during the first day contains 1 free sticker. So from 17 drinks, you only have to purchase 16. That's 100+ savings already. You can also combine a maximum of 2 promo cards provided you have the minimum number of Christmas blends required (which is 9). So if you're brilliant enough (like me!), you can secure two promo cards during the first day = 2 free stickers meaning a 200+ savings already.

And since I need at least 2 planners, I got four promo cards = 4 free stickers!

'tis the time of the year again

Hurry up! Drop by the nearest Starbucks and indulge yourself to their signature Christmas blends - Praline Mocha, Peppermint Mocha, and my favorite Toffe Nut. For every christmas blend you buy, you get 1 sticker. Complete the required 9 stickers (Christmas blends) and 8 stickers (any regular drink) and you get their limited edition 2011 planner. Just like last year, they come in 3 designs. Though I'm still checking out planners from Korea and Malaysia.

By the way, if you happen to get yourself a drink today (Nov.3), you get one sticker FREE!

week in review

So last Saturday, I visited my 99th and 100th Starbucks outlet. Not really easy to do since it took me more than 2 years. Well to some, maybe a complete nonsense. But for me, all the same, a feat. And to add icing on the cake, Henry Sy gifted me with this...

Oh by the way, the 100th store is in SM By The Bay @ MOA. And the location sucks! No signal for both Sun broadband and Globe 3G so after sipping my tea, I immediately left to look for a signal.

Last Wednesday was indeed a hump day. And this kind of hump left me completely pissed off. I'd rather not go into details. Basta the feeling really sucked. Buti na lang nakapagpigil ako or else it will really cause me my job. Well, bad things happen and rude clients really do exist. Hindi lang sila gawa-gawa ng imahinasyon.

Well, one good thing happened that night though. Thanks @mownist for helping me get my first 2010 Starbucks planner. CONG-GRAH-CHEW-LAY-SHONS!!!

One down, I guess two to go.

red cup season

'Tis the season to be merry and caffeineted. So drop by the Starbucks outlet nearest you and secure yourself of the 2010 Starbucks planner. Same as last year, they have 3 designs to choose from, all depicting their coffee story. This year's planner is a major improvement from last year's trashy "ala-National Bookstore" planner. Cover is of velvety material, a bit wider and more colored pages inside. Not to mention the coffee bean shaped book mark dangle. Alongside the planner comes the return of the Peppermint Mocha (my fave!) and last year's Toffee Nut Latte and Dark Cherry Mocha. Also, they've introduced a dozen (or more) Xmas pastries which are really appetizing to the eyes (haven't tried any as of press time LOL). This year, you have to purchase 17 cups (2 shy of last year's 19), 8 from the Holiday featured beverages and 7 from any drink of your choice excluding the bottled juices.

In short, kung may magkakape dyan, I'm free! Basta akin stickers ah! hahaha
